To-Do Tuesday #8 Weekly Progress Update

I am joining the weekly To-Do Tuesday Linky Party hosted by my friend, Roseanne, at Home Sewn By Us. I find goal-setting to be extremely helpful to get more accomplished, and since I’m always trying to get one more project done, I’m all for a little extra push and/or encouragement.

To-Do for the week of October 1st-October 7th:

  1. Make two Christmas Ripples blocks for Roseanne. – √ Done
  2. If time allows, start making more Lumen blocks. √ Done

To-Do #1

Below are photos of the two Christmas Ripples blocks that I made for Roseanne. I loved making these blocks so much that I ordered a Winter Woodland Charm Pack to make myself a Christmas Ripples block quilt next year.

To-Do #2

It was great to get back to making Lumen block segments. Right now the far right green segment in the second row looks out of place to me, but if you look at the Lumen Quilt Pattern Cover Photo (which I’ve tried to emulate), it works as part of the color gradation.

To-Do for the week of October 8th through October 14th

  1. Attend a class at Santa Fe Quilting on 10/12/19 to learn how to make a Blue Onion Quilt. Now that I’ve made the Fizzy block for three IG Honeybees queen bees, I decided to take a class to learn about making a totally different kind of curved block. I bought a Creative Grids  Ovals All  Ways ruler which is supposed to make these blocks easier to make. We’ll see!
  2. Make the remaining Lumen blocks which I think is doable because of the federal holiday next Monday.

Hi Mary! You forgot to take a photo of the best part of the package you sent me! I just adore the paper pieced birthday cake, with a sweet label on the back. It will probably be the only cake I eat this month. The blocks are fabulous, too, of course. And I love the update on Lumen. I think the progression of color works perfectly – I adore the addition of the yellow and green. It’s going to be one stunning quilt soon. WOW! ~smile~ Roseanne (Oh, and thanks for linking up!!)

  2. The Christmas Ripples blocks are just great! I love the way you can feature a cute square in the center. Enjoy your class! That looks like a neat design!

Nice piecing! I think the green in your Lumen quilt will look fine as it shows up again. It is a great looking quilt. Oh, and Blue Onion! I have that pattern, how fun that you are taking a class to construct it! Do report on how it goes!
