My October 2020 One Monthly Goal is to make a total of 15 more Sunflower blocks that mostly use batik fabrics. I’ve made one block so far using a tutorial from Sandy Star Designs that she shared for the Fall into a Quilt Along in 2018. I plan to make 11 more of these blocks using different batik fabrics and will sew rectangles to each side from the green fabric to make them into placemats.
The other four blocks are from the Soak up the Sun pattern in Sew Kind of Wonderful Mini Wonderful Curves. I plan to make a table runner with four curved pieced Sunflowers.
The placemats and table runner are for my brother, Bill, and sister-in-law, Sharon, who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in December. I do plan to keep two of the placemats for myself!

Thanks Wendy. It’s fun to sew with these colors in the early days of Autumn. I’ve made three blocks so far.
Did you make it home yesterday?
