About

After not sewing for over 40 years, I took my first quilting class in October 2014 and became instantly hooked. My mother was a gifted quilter, but unfortunately when she was alive, I wanted nothing to do with quilting. I am definitely making up for lost time now!

I lean toward modern quilting and love to use solids or bright, blender prints. Over the past couple years, I’ve become a fan of paper piecing, and I love color gradient quilts.

I live in rural New Mexico after moving to New Mexico from California in 1990s to go to grad school. The slower pace and wide open spaces along with the beautiful mountains and mesas is what my spirit craves. I live with a companion and four cats. I’m sure all of the cats will eventually show up in my quilting pics as all four of them love to “help” me with my quilting.

I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years and currently work full-time as a behavioral health therapist supervisor. My constant message to my clients over the years has been  “Practice self care.” Quilting is definitely my best self-care activity. I lose myself in beautiful fabrics and piecing interesting blocks, and after spending even a short time on a quilting activity, I generally feel refreshed and ready to deal with my other responsibilities.
