To-Do Tuesday #16 Weekly Progress Update

I am joining the weekly To-Do Tuesday Linky Party hosted by my friend, Roseanne, at Home Sewn By Us. I find goal-setting to be extremely helpful to get more accomplished, and since I’m always trying to get one more project done, I’m all for a little extra push and/or encouragement.

To-Do for the week of November 26th-December 2nd:

  1. Make ten more Medallion Lantern blocks using the Metro Medallion pattern. – √ Done

To-Do #1

Because I got snowed in over the four-day Thanksgiving holiday weekend, I spent a lot of quality time with my sewing machine, and I was able to get 15 Medallion Lantern blocks completed this past week. The blocks generally take about an hour to make with all the fabric pre-cut and sorted in advance. I’m cutting the fabric in batches to make six blocks,  and I’ve already had to replace my rotary cutter blade once. The Essex linen really dulls the blade quickly.

To-Do for the week of December 3rd through December 9th

  1. Make at least eight more Medallion Lantern blocks. My  December ‘19 One Monthly Goal is to finish making all 42 blocks, so look to see making more of these blocks as my one and only task for at least the next two To-Do Tuesday posts. After all the blocks are made, I will sew the triangles on the corners to form the diamonds in the lighter grey background fabric lanterns. There is a possibility that may be done by the end of this month.

Hi Mary! such a nice assortment of prints for the lanterns. As I scrolled through I picked a favorite but upon taking one more look I picked a different one or two favorites. This is going to be such a fabulous quilt top, I think. I’ve never seen this block before so I am thrilled to see the whole piece going together from the get-go. Thank you for linking up! I appreciate it. ~smile~ Roseanne

Look’n good! This is a nice block to show off your masculine fabrics.
