To-Do Tuesday #40 Weekly Progress Update

I am joining the weekly To-Do Tuesday Weekly Progress Update Linky Party hosted by my friend, Roseanne, at Home Sewn By Us.

To-Do for the week of May 12th-May 18th:

  1. Bind Hayden’s High School Graduation Quilt. – √ Done
  2. Start sewing blocks for my Blithe quilt top. √ Done

To-Do #1

This past week I was able to get Hayden’s quilt finished and took it to the local state park to get some camping-inspired photos of it. I’ve included just one pic below along with a photo of a couple Canadian geese and two goslings hidden in the brush that I saw right as I entered the park. See my Hayden’s Graduation Quilt post for more photos and details about this quilt.

To-Do #2

I’ve made decent progress with my Blithe quilt top. Below is a pic of several of the blocks along with multiple pairs of Half Square Triangles (HSTs). This unusual grid layout has at times been challenging but overall fun, and I have really enjoyed sewing with all of the bright colors.

To-Do for the week of May 19th-May 25th:

  1. Finish my Blithe quilt top.
  2. I currently have two quilts out for long-arm quilting: Vertices and the Hummingbirds quilt. If I get either of them back by the upcoming holiday weekend AND I’ve gotten my Blithe quilt top finished, I’d like to start binding one of these quilts.

  1. You’ve had a good week. Blithe is looking good, so I’ll bet you’ll meet that goal. We have so many geese up here that they become a nuisance in some places (like golf courses). It’s not unusual here in town for traffic to come to a halt while a goose family makes their way across the highway to get to the river.

Hi Mary! The Blithe quilt looks like it requires a lot of concentration when laying out the pieces and sewing them together. Is this for someone specific? I am thinking it’s for you, but might be wrong. I know I’ve said it before but I sure do love that low-volume background you chose. I don’t even remember the two quilts you have out for quilting so it will be fun to be reminded once you get them back. {{Hugs}} Thanks for linking up this week. ~smile~ Roseanne
