I am joining the weekly To-Do Tuesday Weekly Progress Update Linky Party hosted by my friend, Roseanne, at Home Sewn By Us.
To-Do for the week of June 23rd-June 29th:
- Finish binding Blithe (Modified) quilt. √ Done
- Work on 4th Sashiko coaster. √ Done
To-Do #1
I am so happy to have my Blithe (Modified) quilt finished. The quilting is a simple mazes pattern done by Amy’s Creative Side. I decided to use the backing fabric as the binding, and I really like how it looks both as the binding and the back of the quilt. I took photos on Saturday at the best large quilt photography place in my small town and also on my bed. The 72.5” x 84.5” quilt works really well on my full-size bed, and I love to look at all the bright, happy colors. This is absolutely my favorite (and only!) finish this month so I am also linking up with the Favorite Finish Monthly Finish Linkup – June 2020 hosted by Cheryl of Meadow Mist Designs.
To-Do #2
Below is the fourth Sashiko coaster I’ve stitched. I just have one more coaster to stitch and next month I will do the finishing work to make them into actual coasters.
Update on Summer Sampler Alumni Quilt
Sarah Harris @acorncornerquilts and I have gotten a great response to our request for black and white blocks made from the current or past Summer Samplers to honor the Black Lives Matter movement and to directly benefit the Social Justice Sewing Academy. SJSA enables youth activists to be seen and heard through the medium of fabric. Below are two blocks that have been made for this project. The first block is made by Sarah. It is called Fierce, and it was designed by Kitty Wilkin for the 2019 Summer Sampler. The second block is made by Karen Carney Fritz, and it was designed by Daisy Aschehoug for the 2018 Summer Sampler. Please check out the Instagram hashtag #summersampleralumniquilt to see some of the other wonderful blocks that are being made for this donation quilt.
To-Do for the week of June 30th-July 6th:
- Finish Month 6 Solstice BOM.
- Work on a 5th (and last for now) Sashiko coaster.
- Write July 2020 OMG post.

Love your Trangles quilt – great use of that background fabric to give it a unified look, but so colorful!

Hi Mary! Blithe turned out just great!! I love how it looks on your bed and that backing is perfect as the binding, too. What a nice finish for the month. I think this is my favorite of the coasters, although truthfully I can’t remember the other patterns all that well. Wow, those Black Lives Matter blocks are just stunning. I’m so glad you are getting a good response – I’ll check out IG. Thanks so much for linking up today. ~smile~ Roseanne
