To-Do Tuesday 100 Weekly Progress Update

I am joining the weekly To-Do Tuesday Linky Party hosted by Chris at ChrisKnits

To-Do for the week of July 6th-12th:

  1. Stitch one more grey Sashiko square with Caribbean floss. √Done
  2. Share photo of my fourth Fancy Fox. √Done
  3. Spend a little more time with EQ8. √Done

To-Do #1

I was able to get one more Sashiko square stitched while visiting with my family. The pic below nicely shows the color of the variegated Caribbean floss, but the background cloth looks beige rather than grey which bothers me but not enough to take another pic! Taking photos of my sewing and stitching is still NOT a favorite thing to do! But it is nice to have them to document the journey and to share with others.

To-Do #2

Here is the fourth and final fox for my modified Fancy Forest quilt that I am making as part of the Quilted Connections 1st Annual Spectacular Summer Sew-Along. I actually finished making this fox before I left for my vacation for California.

To-Do #3

During a little downtime on my trip, I played some more with EQ8 and drafted another wonky star that I might use in a future Christmas project.

Sashiko Recipient Update:

Here is a pic of my brother, Bill, with his Two Cranes Sashiko, that I made for his 75th birthday present. He was thrilled with it and asked me to make a pillow for him with it. I had a wonderful time in California especially at the Giants ball game with Bill and Sharon (see second pic below), but we were a little chilly, and I’m sure glad Sharon gave me the cozy moss green sweater to wear!

To-Do for the week of July 13th-July 19th:

  1. Make two Fancy Forest Thistle Flower blocks.
  2. Finish my Positivity quilt top.
  3. Work on my Storm at Sea quilt project.

Hi Mary! Oh, I love the photo of the three of you at the Giants’ game!! I think that Sashiko piece will make a perfect pillow! And your newest stitching project looks beautiful – I love the variegated thread. Also, I love your wonky star – great job designing it in EQ8. I think that would make a good border candidate for the next SAHRR coming up in January!! Enjoy your visit. ~smile~ Roseanne

Great job getting your list done from last week. I
love that wonky star…so pretty. Have a great day!

  3. I’m so glad to see this post – I was wondering how you were doing and how your trip went! Love the photo of your brother with his Sashiko piece – a pillow will be an easy finish! Looks like the three of you enjoyed the game despite the chill. That Sashiko stitch is very pretty!

  4. A pillow! I love his choice on the way to finish the Sashiko cranes. Hooray for a great visit and warm sweater.

  5. That varigated green Sashiko stitching is so pretty! Your brother looks so happy with his cranes, and a pillow out of them is a great idea. It’s amazing how chilly it can be in San Francisco this time of year. We were there once about this time, and someone in a shop told us that they don’t really get summer until October!

  6. The crane will be perfect as a pillow! Love the photo of the 3 of you. Love the design and variegated thread on your Sashiko. You’ve inspired me to go visit my local LQS this week to get some thread for Sashiko! I talked to them yesterday and they are ready and willing to help me get started. 😀

  7. Hi Mary, the variegated green Sashiko is very pretty! I’m glad you had a great vacation –the Giants game looked fun, great pictures! The crane will make a beautiful pillow!
