My July 2021 One Monthly Goal was to make a 30″ square Storm at Sea wall hanging. Last month I took a David Sirota ‘s Storm at Sea: No More Tears Paper Piecing workshop through the online Vermont Quilt Festival. I finished the quilt top early in the week so decided to get it quilted and bound over the weekend. Dave recommended doing simple quilting that accentuates the illusion of curves in the quilt, and that’s exactly what I did with a decent amount of success. Here’s a pic of it in my garden sitting amongst green bean plants:
And here’s an inside pic:
Although I don’t see me making another Storm at Sea quilt anytime soon, I have the feeling that I might make another one down the road.
Linking up to Elm Street Quilts: July 2021 OMG Finishes.
Love those two colors together! It turned out really nice!
Great suggestion and quilting. With the colors of the quilt, what thread color did you use for quilting?
Mary, your storm at sea quilt is gorgeous! I love two color quilts ♥
Turned out wonderful. What size are your blocks?
Gorgeous! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congratulations on your finish!
