To-Do for the week of Feb14th-20th:
- Make more progress on my Easy Bargello project. √Done
- Make the fourth border for SAHRR2023. √Done
- Do more stitching on my Jellyfish Sashiko project.
To-Do #1
I completed the left half of my Easy Bargello quilt top this past week. The pic below shows about 60″ of the 80″ columns.
To-Do #2
I got my fourth border done for SAHRR2023 early in the week which featured flying geese units. Read about the progress thus far on my SAHRR2023 project here.
To-Do #3
I got a little more done on my Jellyfish Sashiko project. The panel is a blue batik that has an ocean look to it. I have to tell you that stitching on tightly woven batik fabric is not as easy as stitching on linen fabric which is a more typical Sashiko substrate. I have the feeling that I won’t be rushing to get this one finished anytime soon! The thread is Wonderfil Perle Cotton #8 in Liberty.
To-Do for the week of Feb 21st-27th:
- Make the fifth border for SAHRR2023 which is the square in a square.
- Finish my Easy Bargello quilt top.
- Make a paper-pieced star for my March One Monthly Goal.
Linking up to Quilt Schmilt: To-Do Tuesday.
Your projects are progressing nicely! The bargello is looking good with all that glorious color! The addition of the flying geese border to your SAHRR makes the inner section glow, so cool! I know what you mean about stitching through batiks; it’s a whole different experience, but that is a cool design!

Hi Mary! I found the same issue when hand sewing a binding using batik fabrics, and I was not using a heavy weight thread like you are. It’s tough to get through. Great job on your list and good luck with this week’s list. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Your Bargello quilt is coming along nicely – such pretty color! I love the progression of your SAHRR, too – from warm to cool colors. That’s too bad that the Sashiko is hard to stitch because it’s a beautiful design!

Mary all three of your projects are simply beautiful. Great progress on them all. I can imagine that doing your Sashiko stitching on the batik is more of a challenge than on linen. Thank you for linking with To Do Tuesday. Have a great week.
