I am joining the #2025QuiltingPlanningParty hosted by Yvonne at Quilting Jetgirl. Like many quilt bloggers, a main motivation for blogging about my quilting has been to have an ongoing journal about my quilting journey. At this time of year I like to take the opportunity to revisit my goals for the year and to refine my goals for the coming year. I wrote three posts about progress with my 2024 quilting goals: #2024QuiltingQ1CheckIn, #2024QuiltingQ2CheckIn, and #2024QuiltingQ3CheckIn.
For the last quarter of 2024, I focused a lot on Christmas projects, some of which I blogged about here. I also finished the Red Sashiko Christmas Tree shown above which I started two years ago and finished this month by adding the free-form trunk and then stapled it to a 10″ square blank canvas. I’m not sure where I bought this pattern, but I think it was from BeBe Bold. I also made some Nativity blocks (pattern by Burlap and Blossom Patterns). Below is one that I finished in an 8″ x 8″ frame.

I also redid the binding on a quilt my mom made for my niece in the 1980s (see post here) and wrote a post about my Ten Years of Quilting.
2025 Quilting Goals
I have committed to working on the SAHRR 2025 and three block of the month programs:
- Stay at Home Round Robin 2025 hosted by Quilting Gail
- 2025 Murder Mystery Quilt
- Starry Signs Block of the Month 2025
- Frightful Fun Block of the Month 2025
These are some other projects that I may work on in 2025 or in future years:
- Aurora by Bryan House Quilts (I actually want to use the layout of this quilt for a wall hanging).
- Seaglass and Fussy T-Shirt quilts by Exhausted Octopus
- Effervescence Quilt by Quilting Jetgirl
- Signal Trace by Quilting Jetgirl
- Cleo and Modern Postage Stamp quilts by Kitchen Table Quilting
- Luminary by Craft a Dream
- Star Shower (modified) by Mashe Modern and Maeberry Square
- Butterfly Effect EPP Eclipse by Lillyella (scroll down to see the Eclipse version with the black background–I purchased this kit three years ago).
- Ombre Tree Time by V and Co.
- Color Burst Mini Quilt by SassaFras Lane
- All Star Quilt by Giuseppe Ribaudo (@giucy_giuce on Instagram)
- Online FPP Design class with Quilt All the Things
I also hope to participate in at least one Project Quilting challenge this coming year.

definitely let me know how the Murder Mystery BOM is! I was curious about that one, but have other projects to work on in 2025 (I really want to get the Labrador Legit Kit quilt made). That Halloween BOM looks fun too!

Your nativity scene s lovely, and I LOVE the Red Sashiko Christmas Tree. I really, really need to try Sashiko! You certainly have your 2025 goals lined up. All I hope to accomplish is a return to the sewing room and to actually finish something before being lured away by a squirrel (that never gets finished). I need discipline – lol! Hope you are enjoying this Christmas season. 🙂
