My May 2020 One Monthly Goal was to finish my Blithe quilt top. Please see my May 2020 OMG post for details and the original inspiration for this quilt. There are two definitions for the word, “blithe.” It can mean to show a casual and cheerful indifference considered to callous or improper or the second definition is to be happy or joyous. My Blithe quilt is definitely meant to be happy and joyous with its riot of bright colors. If you check out the Blithe Pattern, you will see that I altered the pattern. The original dimensions were 54.5” X 72.5”, and my modified Blithe quilt top is 72.5” X 84.5”. You can see in the photo below that it fits very nicely on my full-size bed, and I will be keeping this bright and happy quilt for myself. I’m sending it out for long-arm quilting tomorrow.

It looks great on the bed and I look forward to seeing how it gets quilted and finished. And hooray for keeping one for yourself!

Hi again, Mary! I’ll bet you had fun with this project from start to quilt top. It is a little bit outside your normal color palette and even your love of solids. I can’t wait to see how this is quilted . . . and I wonder if you’re going to make a pillow cover or two? Really nice job on this month’s finish. ~smile~ Roseanne
