My September 2021 One Monthly Goal is to make a throw-size Christmas North Stars quilt for my sister-in-law, Sharon. Last year I made a North Stars Quilt to include in my Christmas decorating that has a white polar bear, two otters, a walrus, and a seal. When I showed Sharon the pattern and told her she could pick four of the blocks, she chose the muskox, the foxes, the reindeer, and the bear but requested it be a brown bear instead. We decided to use a muted Christmas palette of some dark and olive green, red with a tinge of brown, cream/brown, gold, and taupe/grey. I ordered some fabrics from Tim Holtz’ Christmastime collection that captured that palette perfectly, supplemented with several Essex Linen fabrics, and some fabrics from my stash. Below is a pic of the the pattern and the fabrics I pulled but of course after I took the photo, I added a couple other fabrics!
Linking up to Elm Street Quilts: September 2021 OMG.
I think you’ll have fun with this – nice choice of fabrics!

Ooooh, the musk ox is such a good choice. I had the rare treat of getting to see them in the wild when we were in Alaska along the Dalton Highway in 2019. I look forward to seeing this come together!

Love the colors and the fabrics – I’m a big fan of Tim Holtz. I enjoyed the peek at the one you made last year, and the backing for that one is gorgeous!
