Weekly Progress Update #144

To-Do for the week of May 10th-16th:

  1. Sew some of my Nene quilt blocks. √Done
  2. Write a blog post about a recent finish. √Done
  3. Make more units for my temperature quilts. √Done

To-Do #1

I’ve started sewing my Nene blocks, and I really like how they’re looking. I have the other 17 blocks partially made and just need to sew the grey setting triangles on them and then trim them to size (11 3/4″ x 22 5/8″–not the most straightforward block dimension!)

To-Do #2

I recently got my SAHRR 2022 quilt finished. For details, please see post linked here.

To-Do #3

Here is a pic of temperature quilts flying geese for May 1-14 for my town in New Mexico, a Bay Area city in California, and a city in Washington. I love how these units dramatically show in a pictorial way how much my town in NM differs from my stepdaughter’s city in CA and my stepson’s city in WA. We’re still dealing with some low overnight temps (May 5th Purple at 27F and May 13th Noble Purple 34F). The highest temp represented is also in the NM column May 14th Citrus at 84F).

To-Do for the week of May 17th-23rd:

  1. Sew the setting triangles on my Nene blocks and possibly sewing the blocks into rows.
  2. Make binding for Colby’s graduation camping quilt and for my gradient strip quilt.
  3. Make more units for my temperature quilts.

  2. Your Nene blocks look amazing! I love how your SAHRR turned out. The temperature flying geese are dramatically different! I’m afraid mine would all be orange for this past month, since the Dallas-Fort Worth are has had the hottest May on record. We are farther north of Dallas, but it has still been hot, and I feel cheated out of our normal May spring weather!
Thanks for linking with To Do Tuesday!

Hi Mary! I just LOVE the Nene blocks. How cool they look – and what an odd size for trimming. Those measurements are definitely a check twice, cut once moment! The temperature triangles are very cool looking, too. Good luck with this week’s list! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
