Weekly Progress Update #164

To-Do for the week of  Sept 27th-Oct 3rd:

  1. Bind my Break of Day quilt. √Done
  2. Write my Oct 2022 One Monthly Goal post. √Done
  3. Do a little more Sashiko stitching. √Done

To-Do #1

I did finish binding Break of Day over the weekend using Kona Hibiscus which is the same dark purple as the dark purple stars in the center of the quilt. The quilt measures 58″ X 68″. I chose to have Melissa from Sew Shabby Quilting quilt large spirals to give it a softer, more ethereal look. I’m very happy with the finished quilt (see many more details about this quilt here). Another quilt crossed off my Quilty Bucket list!

To-Do #2

This month I plan to get all the flying geese units sewn into columns for July, August, and September for my New Mexico, California, and Washington temperature quilts. Read more info about my October 2022 One Monthly Goal here.

To-Do #3

I love how this Orange Peel Sashiko square looks against our Robin Egg Blue picnic table.

  1. Break of Day is gorgeous – I love all the color! Your little Sashiko reminds me that I have a Sashiko project I was working on, and now I can’t recall where I put it. Hmm. Might have to hunt for it today (that could be dangerous!!).

  8. I love how the spiral quilting looks on your Break of Day quilt, Mary! Melissa did a great job for you. The sashiko looks great too and I’m wondering what you have planned for it. Will it turn into a quilt or some other kind of project? I love the look of hand stitching, even though I don’t get a lot of time to do it myself. Have a great weekend and happy stitching!
