My August 2020 One Monthly Goal was to make a mini kitty quilt to protect—at least a little bit—my Blithe (Modified) quilt that I am currently enjoying on my bed. I made a mini version of Elizabeth Hartman’s Cat Quilt that I found on the Janome website. I made this quilt primarily for my cat, Bug, who sleeps on the end of my bed at night, but I’ve had a hard time getting a good photo of her on the mini quilt. Here’s one of her partially on it:

Why is it that cats sit on quilts when we’re not photo ready, and then as soon as we are ready, they move off. I think they mess with our heads – LOL. Cute mini, and I’m sure Bugs is happy with it!

Bug looks like she is much more interested in saying hello to you than cooperating for the photo. The mini quilt is a great idea for her to have a spot of her own, although I’m not entirely surprised to see that she claims a bigger area than the mini quilt. Gah, I could totally become a crazy cat lady. 😉

Your kitty quilt is so much fun! Love the colors of the cats, and the binding, too. I’ve never lived with a cat, but from what I hear, yours may end up claiming both quilts, lol!

Hi Mary! You can’t call Bug a poser. Get it?!! HAHAHA! Made you laugh, I hope. I think it is often hard to get cats to do what you want, isn’t it? So, in order to get Bug to pose you need to actually want a different end result. The picture on the mini-quilt will just be a happy accident then. Great job finishing your OMG project. Woot woot. ~smile~ Roseanne

Both cat and quilt are cute. I know exactly what you mean about protecting the quilt from the cat. My cat loves going under them, so I have no choice in the matter. But now I’m thinking if I do a small one at the end of the bed for him to go under. Excellent work here. Take care.
