To-Do for the week of May 23rd-29th:

1. Share my May 2022 One Monthly Goal Finished post. √Done
2. Write a post about my finished Treasure Hunt quilt and share next Sunday on the Hands2Help Final linky party on Mari@Academic Quilter’s site. √Done
3. Work on a Kantha pillow cover. √Done
4. I added a fourth to-do. Since publishing this post last Monday, I found out that my Color Gradient Strip Quilt had been quilted and was on its way back to me! So I plan to get it finished this upcoming holiday weekend. √Done

To-Do #1

To-Do #3

I did get the front of my Kantha pillow cover sewn together and did some Kantha stitching on two middle strips. I really like how this stitching looks, and I’m not sure it needs any more decorative stitching, so I’m going to focus on some other projects and put this project on the back burner for now.

To-Do #4

I did get my Color Gradient Strip quilt back and quickly got it bound and photographed outside in the very welcome blue sky. More details are included in this post.

To-Do for the week of May 30th-June 5th:

1. Write my June 2022 One Monthly Goal post.
2. Make some more units for my June goal.
3. If I get Colby’s quilt back from Melissa@Sew Shabby Quilting by the weekend, I plan to get it finished.

To-Do #1

I did get all the setting triangles sewn on and then started sewing the blocks into rows. Here’s a pic of Row 3 sewn to Row 4. I’ve actually finished the quilt top and will share a pic in my May 2022 One Monthly Goal Finished post.

To-Do #1

I’ve started sewing my Nene blocks, and I really like how they’re looking. I have the other 17 blocks partially made and just need to sew the grey setting triangles on them and then trim them to size (11 3/4″ x 22 5/8″–not the most straightforward block dimension!)

To-Do #3

Here is a pic of temperature quilts flying geese for May 1-14 for my town in New Mexico, a Bay Area city in California, and a city in Washington. I love how these units dramatically show in a pictorial way how much my town in NM differs from my stepdaughter’s city in CA and my stepson’s city in WA. We’re still dealing with some low overnight temps (May 5th Purple at 27F and May 13th Noble Purple 34F). The highest temp represented is also in the NM column May 14th Citrus at 84F).

To-Do #1

I got all the cutting done for my Nene quilt and have picked the coordinating Kona solids that I will use in the blocks. Here is a photo of the colors that I’ll use in two of the the four blocks.

To-Do #2

I finished my gradient quilt top, and I really like the arrangement. I did, however, decide to not add Kantha stitching to this quilt. I still want to make a Kantha project which will most likely be a color gradient design, but I want it to be smaller and more portable like a pillow or mini quilt. I’ll send this quilt top and backing off for quilting and will use it to cover my recliner in the living room. My Dimension in Dusk quilt has shrunk after multiple washings and doesn’t stay up on my chair anymore. So I need another colorful chair cover!

I’m caught up with sewing temperature flying geese units. I’ll try to take a pic of the first two weeks of May next weekend.

To-Do #1

I did get the quilt top done for Colby’s camping graduation quilt. It is packaged up and ready to send to Melissa at Sew Shabby Quilting. Here is a photo of the center of the quilt top.

To-Do #2

I may have finished cutting strips for my Alison Glass Kantha Sew Along quilt. I won’t know until I take all the strips I have and start laying them out in a cohesive gradient order. I will be piecing the strips together in columns that are approximately 78″ in length. The width of the quilt top will be around 54″. Below are strips I cut over the weekend.
